Children overflow with a sense of wonder. They bubble with delight at something new, different, or funny. We adults are much more reserved in our reactions as we go about our serious affairs on a daily basis.
But that's not the whole story. I look back on the years when poems fell off my pen as if I am a child again. I am filled with wonder at new sights and sounds, or desperately sad at a parting. Poetry becomes my outlet and I marvel that it has been so. And hope that I overflow with powerful images to share yet again.
